On Friday, April 12th, 1872, the Jesse James Gang robbed a bank in Columbia, KY . Little is known as to what occurred during this robbery, as the date of its occurrence is tentative as well. However, it is known that one person died during this event, and the gang got away with $1,500.
Jesse and Frank James, with the former being more well-known, were among the most notable of American outlaws of the West, as well as leaders of a gang of American outlaws, named the Jesse James Gang, or James–Younger Gang. Jesse James avoided authorities for an estimated 15 years, in which he 'ran off' with about $200,000 from over 20 robberies from banks or trains.
